Select petrol or diesel, turn AC on or off, add passengers and choose the traffic level.

04

Get to know your car's average

Your Car's Fuel Average Decides Your Trip Cost

Your car's real petrol average (km per litre) is usually lower than the showroom figure, and on a long trip that difference changes the fuel cost a lot. Check your real average with our fuel average calculator, then enter it in the planner for a more accurate trip cost.

How Fuel Average Changes the Cost of a Long Trip

On a 400 km road trip, a car that gives 18 km per litre needs about 22 litres of petrol, while a car that gives 12 km per litre needs about 33 litres, half as much again. That is why the planner lets you set your own average instead of a fixed figure.

EFFICIENT CAR • 18 KM/L
~22.2 Litres
Needed for 400 km • approx. Rs. 6,050
LOWER AVERAGE • 12 KM/L
~33.3 Litres
Needed for 400 km • approx. Rs. 9,080 (+50% fuel)

Road Trip Tips to Save Petrol and Time in Pakistan

01

Keep a steady speed on the motorway.

90–100 km/h usually saves more petrol than 120 km/h.

02

Leave early to avoid city traffic.

Avoid rush hour traffic at both ends of the trip.

03

Check tyre pressure and M-Tag balance.

Check both the night before your journey.

04

Travel light.

Extra weight lowers your fuel average.

05

Check fog and weather in winter.

Call Motorway Police 130 for road and fog updates.

06

Plan rest stops.

Plan rest stops every 2–3 hours on long drives.
